While life insurance is generally not considered an investment, an insured's total life insurance portfolio should be treated and managed as one would manage an investment. After distinguishing between short-term and lifetime needs - appropriately fulfilled with suitable policy styles - the focus of this session will turn to demonstrating why life insurance qualifies as a distinct asset class. Specific policy attributes and risks will be evaluated so that the major policy types can be combined into a portfolio of policies - meeting a client's unique risk/reward tolerance.
