Working with ultra high net worth individuals requires disruptive changes in the communication style and collaboration skills of the advisory team in order to achieve success. The highly fluid aspect of exploring solutions and communicating timelines with multiple stakeholders, demands well-choreographed consultative expertise in order to bridge the gaps and unexpected surprises that could kill the deal. This NED Talk will demonstrate how we had to re-write the playbook to arrive at a successful $100 million solution. Many adaptations had to be made due to the multiplicity of unique factors involved. This case involved a brilliant highly impaired male in his mid 60's with challenging family dynamics. Dealing with all of the legal and tax issues while working with two law firms, a CPA firm, and a corporate legal team added to the complexity. We will walk through the process that we used step by step and share tipping points and strategic insights that led us to a successful conclusion.These solutions resulted in tens of millions of AUM, 7 Term Conversions, life settlement commissions, and advisory fees for attorneys, CPAs, and planners.
