When the business relationship between the carrier's underwriter and the producer becomes less customer-service oriented, an opportunity is created for the producer to have a significant competitive edge: to provide clients with something that most others do not - expert field underwriting. This can be accomplished by performing six tasks very well. As a result, favorable offers may be made more quickly and last-minute killer surprises will decrease, increasing the producer's control of the case from start to finish.
